Make Money Sending / Receiving Letters - Australia Post Study

How would you like to earn some money each week for receiving or sending some letters?

Sounds like a SCAM hey?

Well actually in this case, NO it isn't.

Anyone know that little organisation called Australia Post? Seems they still deliver letters around Australia to every business and residential address. And they need to keep a careful track on the performance of their mail delivery service around Australia.

To achieve this they have recruited a team of Senders and Receivers around Australia who send and receive a few mail items and record the time it takes to get from one place to another and in what condition the mail piece arrives.

Senders and Receivers earn $12.50 a week and get paid $150 every 12 weeks.

They contract this through a firm called TNS GLOBAL.

They are currently recruiting for Panelists (Senders & Receivers) and If you are interested in this opportunity send them an email to email.au@tnsglobal.com

Something like this:

Hi

I am interested in participating as a sender or receiver in the Australia Post Study.
I live in XXXX and my contact details are: YYYYYY

Regards
You

3 Great Ways to Save on Your Grocery Purchases

Grocery Shoppipng is one of the biggest expenses in everybody's monthly budget.

Doing online surveys and participating in rewards programs isn't going to make you a fortune. But there are many ways you can make a little money and also save some...

When it comes to grocery shopping, here are 3 suggestions for you to save a little and earn some rewards...

1) If you join the Nielsen Homescan program you will get paid in rewards cards just for scanning the grocery shopping that you do. Check out the Nielsen Homescan program.

2) If you are a Woolworths shopper, Shop Angels can give you mystery shopping assignments that ill reimburse you for some of your grocery purchases. Check out Shop Angels.

3) If you are reasonably diligent with your credit card use, you can get a gift cards from using a Woolies credit card and their store loyality card. Buy you groceries with the credit card, wve your rewards card, and then transfer the money you would have spent straight to the credit card from your savings account. This only works if you pay off the balance before the nasty interest kicks in of course...

Any other tips? Hit up the comments box below...

WOMO Delivers !!!

I recently blogged about a new site that I had found called 'Word of Mouth Online' that pays you to review businesses that you have shopped at.

Its pretty easy, you write a quick review and get some points, you provide comments and compliemnts on other peoples reviews and you get a few points.

For me, I saw a great opportunity to make an extra $1 or $2 for mystery shopping assignments.

Gift Vouchers from WOMO
Well today I got my first delivery of gift card vouchers. 3 x $20 WISH Gift Cards and 1 x $10 iTunes card. This is was pretty easy...

Australian Mystery Shoppers - How You can earn an extra 5-10% for each assignment

If you have been doing Mystery Shopping to make extra money or a small part time income then you will know that every dollar you can get makes it just that extra bit worth it. So here is a fairly simple way to add an extra $1 to every assignment that you do without having to do any extra work.

When you conduct a Mystery Shop you are normally required to prepare a written summary of the shopping experience to complete the assignment.

'Word of Mouth Online' (WOMO) is an Australian customer review web site that pays you to provide reviews of stores and services. As a Mystery Shopper all you need to do is take the short summary (100 words) from your mystery shopping assignment and edit/paste it into the business review on WOMO and you get 100 points (equals $1).

They pay you in gift cards from iTunes, Westfield, or WISH that you can use at Woolies, Big W etc. After joining I had enough points (2000) in no time at all to get my first $20 WISH gift card.

Using My Opinions and Rewards Central to Max Your Payout

Today I want to discuss one of the strategies that I use to make the most out of doing paid surveys. And that is utilising the relationship between My Opinions and Rewards Central.

Firstly My Opinons is one of the better online survey sites in Australia. Unlike most survey panels there are actually three ways to make money at My Opinions:

1) Doing Paid Surveys
You get fairly regular surveys to do and they generally fairly short and pay out at a reasonable level of points per survey.
2) Play the 'Instant Win' Game
Free to enter once per week - click a square and win between 0 and 500 points
3) Refer Your Friends
If you tell your friends about My Opinions you can earn 200 points per registered person.

Secondly Rewards Central is probably Australia's leading online rewards program web site. There are 8 ways to make money from Rewards Central

1) Doing Paid Surveys
You don't get many surveys, but when you do they are usually pretty good.
2) View Emails
Rewards Central send out a daily advertising email and if you click on the ad to view it you get 10 points (or 2 entries into their Win $10,000 competition)
3) Daily Ad ClicksRewards Central will let view and click on ads once per day - you get 2 points (yay)
4) Play the Free Guessing Game
Pick some numbers and if you are lucky you win up to 4000 points
5) Respond to Offers
If you take up advertiser offers you get reward points
6) Shopping Rewards
Purchase from selected reward partner retail web sites - shop and get reward points
7) Refer Your Friends
If you tell your friends about RewardsCnntral you can earn 200 points per registered person.
8) eBank
If you deposit your reward points into the Rewards Central eBank you earn interest on the points balance.

With all that info covered, here is the little strategy for maximising your return from these two web sites. My Opinions allows you to transfer the points that you make on that site into a Rewards Central Account. This means that not only can you accumulate enough points to make a withdrawal faster but you can also take advantage of the interest you can earn in the RewardsCentral eBank with all your earned points.

I set up my My Opinions account to automatically transfer my points when the total gets to 100. The I move the points in Rewards Central into a short term deposit in the eBank. When I have a larger amount I will deposit the points for a longer term to get a better interest rate.

Another point to remember is that the processing fee for withdrawing money at Rewards Central get smaller when you transfer larger amounts into your bank account. At the time of writing its 3300 points for $30 & 10,100 for $100.

Recapping:
  1. Set up an account with My Opinions
  2. Set up an account (using the same email address) at Rewards Central
  3. Use the points transfer to automatically send points from My Opinions to Rewards Central
  4. Transfer all points tothe Rewards Central eBank
  5. Withdrw the money when you get to 10,100 or $100
Of course you could also save the points to bid in Auctions on the Rewards Central web site.

Free Bus Fares and an Excuse to Buy That iPAD or Smartphone???

If you are looking for an excuse to but that iphone, ipad or smartphone, or you need a justification for one that you got for christmas, here is a little piece that might help you....

Bus Fares in Brisbane recently rose by 15%. This has taken the price of my daily commute from $8.28 to $9.54. Now this doesn’t seem like a lot at first glance, but $47.70 a week is one of the larger expenses in my personal budget.

Now on this bus trip each morning and afternoon I spend about 50 or so minutes. What to do? Catch up on some sleep? Maybe read a book?, the paper?, laugh manicly everything 2.5 minutes? or maybe just stare blankly into the bus void avoiding eye contact with all the other humans...or do like most people seem to be doing and engage lovingly with my smart phone…

If you have a smart phone (I have a HTC desire...I think its smart?) how about putting this dead time to use and offsetting the cost of the transport? How about doing online paid surveys and paid messages while you are on the bus, you can easily earn back the cost of your bus fare.

Take a little bit of time to set up a daily / weekly routine and bookmark the web sites.

I check out these survey and reward panels daily or every second day:

RewardsCentral – you can earn points each day and bank amounts over 100 points to earn interest until you are ready to withdraw to get real dollars. You can also get reward point each day by clicking on stuff and playing their lucky number game. (just two clicks)

Pureprofile – you can earn money here with online surveys and by viewing adverts. I try to do one short survey and view a few ads. Most days you can easily earn enough to cover the cost of your bus trip.

GlobalTestmarket - I get a pretty good number of surveys to do here, you can easily get at least one done on a bus trip each day.

These about once per week:

MyOpinons – I regularly have surveys to complete here, but also you can transfer points earned to your Rewards Central account and deposit them in their bank and earn interest until you are ready to withdraw. You can also play an ‘instant win’ game weekly to earn extra points.

Valued Opinions – has regular surveys to do, but only pays out in gift vouchers.

Of course the extra money isn't huge, but it is tax free, and a slightly more productive way to use that time you spend on public transport.

(Note: Some of these survey panels now also have 'apps' for mobile phones, after you sign up for the survey panel you can download them from your phones 'market' for google people or whatever you iphone people call your 'app' store. I have downloaded some and they are frankly pretty crappy....maybe they will improve, but for now I just go to the page on the phones web browser.)
